"Acupuncture Treatment"

Your acupuncture session will begin with a consultation, where the practitioner will inquire about your main concern, overall health, symptoms, and medical history. She may examine your tongue, pulse, and other physical indicators to derive a diagnosis and treatment design.

During the treatment, you will sit or lie comfortably on a treatment table while fine, sterile needles are inserted strategically to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. You might feel a pinch or tingle, however, the treatment is painless and can be extremely relaxing. Depending on the purpose of the treatment, the needles may be inserted and withdrawn immediately or may remain in place for 20-45 minutes, allowing for relaxation and rejuvenation.

To enhance the healing process, music therapy, massage (Tuina), cupping, or moxibustion (warming herbal therapy) may be added to each treatment.

Marnie has always had a deep passion for learning, which continues to drive her both personally and professionally. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before pausing her academic journey to focus on raising her family, with the clear intention of returning to further her education.

After the birth of her children, Marnie began experiencing chronic back pain that did not respond to conventional treatments. Seeking alternative options, she turned to acupuncture—a decision that proved life-changing. Her own healing experience sparked a profound interest in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This, combined with her longstanding fascination with anatomy, physiology, and the interconnectedness of the body and mind, inspired her to pursue a formal education in TCM. Marnie went on to complete a Diploma in Acupuncture and is now a Registered Acupuncturist licensed with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia (CCHPBC).

In her clinical practice, Marnie takes a comprehensive, individualized approach to treatment. Reiki Master Practitioner As a certified Master Level Usui Reiki practitioner since 2011, I am deeply committed to helping others restore balance, clarity, and harmony in their lives through the gentle, transformative power of Reiki. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in working with clients to identify and release energetic blockages that may be causing emotional, physical, or spiritual distress.

Reiki is a holistic healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to heal by promoting the free flow of life-force energy. When energy becomes stagnant or blocked—often due to stress, trauma, or negative thought patterns—it can manifest as discomfort or dis-ease. Reiki works to clear these blockages, realigning your energy system and encouraging a deep state of relaxation and renewal.

Whether you’re seeking relief from stress, emotional healing, or simply a sense of peace and grounding, I offer a safe and supportive space for your journey. Together, we can gently uncover and dissolve what no longer serves you, making room for clarity, vitality, and wholeness.

Accepting new clients. I provide support to teens (ages 12-19) and (individual) adults (age 19+). I am available for online, telephone, and in-person counselling sessions.

Areas of support: addictions/substance use, domestic violence support, anxiety/depression/stress, navigating work/personal/family relationships, healthy personal boundaries, regulating the nervous system, increasing emotional resilience and secure & healthy communication.

I am at heart & mindfulness based, trauma informed, client focused guide. Years in practice: 13 years (since 2012).

My counselling approach is from a Buddhist Psychology perspective, and that one’s own healing journey is that of self-compassion and self-care. I draw from both Western (medical model) & Eastern holistic modalities/philosophies on healing our mind, body & soul.

After finishing my graduate studies in counselling psychology in 2011 and then receiving my professional registration in 2012, I’ve spent over 10 years in the helping profession in both non-profit and various health authority settings (domestic violence, mental health & substance-use, homelessness, addictions, end-of-life care, cancer diagnosis & care); walking alongside adults, youth, children and families as they navigate through their trauma: (personal & work) relationships, family of origin/intergenerational traumas, personal attachment styles, repeated behavioural patterns and nervous system regulation.
