Reiki Master Practitioner
As a certified Master Level Usui Reiki practitioner since 2011, I am deeply committed to helping others restore balance, clarity, and harmony in their lives through the gentle, transformative power of Reiki. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in working with clients to identify and release energetic blockages that may be causing emotional, physical, or spiritual distress.
Reiki is a holistic healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to heal by promoting the free flow of life-force energy. When energy becomes stagnant or blocked—often due to stress, trauma, or negative thought patterns—it can manifest as discomfort or dis-ease. Reiki works to clear these blockages, realigning your energy system and encouraging a deep state of
relaxation and renewal.
Whether you’re seeking relief from stress, emotional healing, or simply a sense of peace and grounding, I offer a safe and
supportive space for your journey. Together, we can gently uncover and dissolve what no longer serves you, making room for clarity, vitality, and wholeness.

Annie was raised on the Sunshine Coast, which helped to instil a closeness to nature and love of community. She is thrilled to now call Colwood her home. She is excited to explore the area and put down roots with her husband and little rescue dog.
I hold a deep respect for the roots of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In our daily lives, our life-force energy, or Qi, can become stagnant and can get stuck in different areas of our body. Past events, emotions, traumas, live inside of us in the form of this stagnant Qi. This stagnancy can manifest as physical, mental, emotional or spiritual pain or disharmony. It can display in terms of a hormonal imbalance, fertility challenges, digestive issues, low energy, sleep disruption, and more. Acupuncture and TCM have the potential to treat all these conditions by addressing the root causes and assisting our innate abilities to heal. My goal as well work together is to help you to feel better in your body and in your mind.
My passions lie in the areas of mental, emotional health and stress reduction, hormonal balancing at every stage of life, and constitutional facial rejuvenation.
I look forward to assisting you on your healing journey!

David has over 25 years of work experience in a wide range of settings, including hospital inpatient and outpatient, rehabilitation clinics, non-profit community counselling programs, in colleges and universities, as well as in private counselling practice.
David has earned a PhD (Psychology) from the University of Aberdeen, UK; he has also undertaken postgraduate studies in clinical and counselling psychology (Universities of Alberta and Sheffield, UK). Since 2020, Dr Walters has offered counselling and psychotherapy both online and in-person. Adopting a Humanistic or ‘person-centred’ approach to his work, David is open and accepting of diversity in values, culture, faith and other individual qualities.
David is attuned to the human need to feel valued and respected in all aspects of the life journey. He encourages and motivates choice and change in both specific (i.e., problem-solving) and in more broadly-ranging therapeutic conversations. Over the years, Dr Walters has worked on an incredible range of human issues and challenges with his clients, paving the way for their greater clarity and confidence in all forms of planning and decision-making.
Dr Walters’ special focus is that of working with adults in individual therapy, often on the challenges of depression, anxiety, and uncertainty. He is open to single-session counselling as well as to longer-term and in-depth psychotherapy. David takes an ‘integrationist’ orientation, i.e., applying tools and strategies from a range of theories and perspectives, including those of the Rogerian / humanistic schools, existential, psychodynamic and the wellness / mindfulness models. Cognitive-behavioural (CBT) methods and stress management tools are often used within such frameworks, in order to assist clients in addressing both immediate demands and in forming longer-term goals.
David’s approach emphasizes the value of listening and presence; of inviting clients to feel comfortable and safe; of supporting each person as the unique direction and purpose of their own life is considered; of supporting and encouraging each individual to become more of who they are; this, in the understanding that life’s greatest challenges are both simple and profound.

Accepting new clients. I provide support to teens (ages 12-19) and (individual) adults (age 19+). I am available for online, telephone, and in-person counselling sessions.
Areas of support: addictions/substance use, domestic violence support, anxiety/depression/stress, navigating work/personal/family relationships, healthy personal boundaries, regulating the nervous system, increasing emotional resilience and secure & healthy communication.
I am at heart & mindfulness based, trauma informed, client focused guide. Years in practice: 13 years (since 2012).
My counselling approach is from a Buddhist Psychology perspective, and that one’s own healing journey is that of self-compassion and self-care. It’s when we are able to identify and acknowledge our wounds that we can move towards our authentic selves with mindful compassion, curiousity, and nonjudgement. I draw from both Western (medical model) & Eastern holistic modalities/philosophies on healing our mind, body & soul.
After finishing my graduate studies in counselling psychology in 2011 and then receiving my professional registration in 2012, I’ve spent over 10 years in the helping profession in both non-profit and various health authority settings (domestic violence, mental health & substance-use, homelessness, addictions, end-of-life care, cancer diagnosis & care); walking alongside adults, youth, children and families as they navigate through their trauma: (personal & work) relationships, family of origin/intergenerational traumas, personal attachment styles, repeated behavioural patterns and nervous system regulation.
